Why suits need dry cleaning
Modern men's suit construction layers wool or wool-blend outer fabric over canvas interlining, with padding at the shoulder and chest. Water-washing — even gentle hand-washing — shrinks the wool, warps the canvas, and softens the structural shape. The shoulder caves. The lapel rolls inconsistently. The vent splays open. The same applies to tropical-weight summer suits common in Manila offices: viscose-rich and silk-blend fabrics can't survive water without losing drape.
Our suit process
- Pre-treatment of collar, cuff, and underarm perspiration zones — the three areas that always need work.
- Solvent cleaning at the temperature and cycle length calibrated for wool and wool-blend.
- Form pressing — the jacket is pressed on a torso form that holds the shoulder shape and chest curve.
- Trousers pressed flat with a clean knife-edge crease.
- Quality check on button attachment, lapel roll, and lining condition — anything loose is re-secured.
How often to clean a suit
Less than you might think. Daily wear in Metro Manila's heat means perspiration accumulation, but over-cleaning wears the fabric down. Industry guidance and our own experience: a suit you wear weekly needs dry cleaning every 4 to 6 wears, not after every wear. Between cleanings, hang the suit on a proper hanger (not a flimsy wire one), brush it down with a soft garment brush, and air it out overnight before returning it to the closet.
Pricing structure
Standard pricing (effective December 2025): around ₱590 for a two-piece (₱335 jacket plus ₱255 trousers) and about ₱845 for a three-piece (adding a ₱255 waistcoat). Separates: ₱335 jacket alone, ₱255 trousers alone, ₱255 waistcoat. Wool and wool-blend coats run higher — ₱455 for wool-blend, ₱635 for full wool. Bespoke, half-canvassed, or designer-name pieces (Hugo Boss, Brooks Brothers, Onesimus, Joe Lucky's, Tomas Mendoza, Filip+Inna men's, and others) are priced the same — the structural construction matters more than the brand label.
Tuxedos and formal wear
Tuxedos with satin lapels, bow ties, formal dinner jackets, and full ceremonial morning coats all fall under suit cleaning with per-piece pricing for the specialty satin elements. Bring it in within a week after the event for the best stain-removal outcome — champagne, food, and dance-floor heat soak in faster on dark tuxedo wool than on lighter business suits.
Branches our office-worker customers use most
Our Makati branches (Legaspi Village and One Ayala) handle the heaviest concentration of executive suit work. BGC customers split between Fifth Avenue Place and Market Market. Ortigas runs through SM Megamall and Robinsons Galleria. North Quezon City office workers from Eastwood, North Triangle, and Quezon Avenue commonly drop off at SM City North or Robinsons Magnolia.
